On-street parking is free throughout downtown on weekends. The Main St. Garage, Wayne St. Garage, and Leighton Garage will also offer free parking. The Century Center lot will also be available for parking for a small fee.

ART BEAT AFTER PARTIES

Art Beat ends at 7:00 p.m., but the downtown excitement does not! Head to these places when Art Beat is over:

Fiddler’s Hearth invites you to come party with the Celts after Art Beat, with food & drink specials, live music by Highland Reign at 8:30 p.m., and marshmallow & hot dog roasting over the fire pit on their patio.

Gatsby Style After Party at The Hideaway
237 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.      6:00 p.m. – Midnight

The Hideaway at the LaSalle will be throwing a Summer Celebration Gatsby Style After Party, with live music, drink specials, and hors d’oeuvres. 1920s attire is encouraged.

 

South Bend Civic Theatre: Community Foundation Performing Arts Series
Chris Wilson Pavilion at Potawatomi Park      7:00 p.m.

The South Bend Civic Theatre will be presenting highlights from their recent and upcoming performances, including Matilda, Xanadu, and The SpongeBob Musical.  Event is free; bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating.

What streets are inaccessible during Art Beat?

Wayne/Jefferson will both be closed from MLK to St. Louis. St. Louis will be closed from Jefferson to Wayne.

 

Where are the best places to park?

On-street parking is free throughout downtown on weekends.

The Main St. Garage, Wayne St. Garage, and Leighton Garage will also offer free parking. Free parking will also be available at the Crowe parking lot (except the small, northern lot reserved for employees), the AM General lot, the Peoplelink lot, and the Zion/Howard Park lot. See parking map above with these parking options.

 

The Century Center lot will also be available for parking for a small fee.

 

How much does it cost to attend Art Beat?

Art Beat is a free event!

 

Where can I find the nearest restroom?

Look for the “R” on the map to find your nearest restroom.

 

Can I bring my pets?

Yes so long as they do not pose harm to other guests and remain on a leash. Please pick up after your pets as well.

 

Is this event accessible?

Yes - the event is wheelchair accessible.

The nearest ATM can be found at the TCU branch at 823 E. Jefferson Blvd. TCU is the presenting sponsor for Art Beat 2021.

What are COVID-19 Safety measures?

Booths will be spaced out with 5 feet separation between booths this year to allow for more distancing and less crowds inside the booths.

 

DTSB has been working closely with the St. Joseph County Department of Health to determine the appropriate measures to make this event as safe as possible. St. Joseph County is currently experiencing substantial community-wide transmission of COVID-19 and therefore DTSB and local health officials are encouraging all Art Beat attendees to follow current CDC recommendations in regards to mask wearing and physical distancing in addition to hand hygiene.

 

Complimentary masks are available at our info booths. And increased hand washing stations and hand sanitizing opportunities are placed throughout our event to improve hand hygiene.

FAQ FOR COMMUNITY ART PROJECT

What is the 2021 Community Art project?

The 2021 Community Art Project will feature painted rocks that will be placed in various rock gardens around downtown for people to take from or add to in the years to come.

 

When and where does the 2021 Community Art project start?

The project will take place from noon to 5 pm at Plaza Park (at the southwest corner of the Jefferson Bridge). 

 

Is there an entry fee to the 2021 Community Art project?

Participation is free and open to visitors of all ages and skill levels.
