Art Beat 2021 is dedicated to the memory of Linda Kobb
Linda Kobb lived in Mishawaka, but she loved the events and activities in Downtown South Bend with all of her heart. She could often be seen at First Fridays, Chicory Cafe, the museums and theaters, and many more spots in DTSB!
She especially loved attending Art Beat with her daughter and son-in-law. She’d sell her handmade pins and necklaces at their photography booth.
Linda brought a smile to the face of everyone she met. Linda passed away in a tragic car accident just days before Art Beat 2021, but we want her joy and love to live on through the rest of us.
Linda is pictured here at Art Beat 2019 with the mascot for that year's event - Octavius the Octopus. Her joy and light will be greatly missed at this year's event.
COVID-19 Protocols for Art Beat 2021
DTSB has been working closely with the St. Joseph County Department of Health to determine the appropriate measures to make this event as safe as possible. Additionally we will be providing increased spacing between booths to allow for more physical distancing, complimentary masks at our info booths for those who would like one, and increased hand washing stations and hand sanitizing opportunities to improve hand hygiene.
If you're still needing your vaccine, a COVID-19 pop-up clinic will taking place at La Casa de Amistad (3423 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46614)

GENERAL ART BEAT INFO
A group of like-minded individuals came together in 2003 with a common idea — to showcase the work of local visual, performing, and culinary artists in the heart of South Bend. Art Beat was born and over the past several years became a downtown South Bend signature art and cultural event drawing over 15,000 visitors annually.
Engage your senses in this day-long showcase of over 500 visual, performing and culinary artists from the Michiana area.
Stroll the streets of downtown South Bend during this free, family-friendly event to see the hand-crafted work of local potters, photographers, painters, weavers, jewelers, sketchers, woodcarvers, crocheters, and filmmakers. You'll also hear the sound of acoustical melodies, African drumming, soulful Jazz, the power of rock and more.
You'll taste the flavors of the region, the fresh local produce, and the intricate creations of top chefs and touch the artistic instruments to create your own masterpiece in one of the many community art projects!
Many thanks to the 2021 Art Beat Committee!
