Downtown South Bend will be celebrating sports and games with this March Madness themed First Fridays. Highlights include behind the scenes tours at Four Winds Field, bingo night at Purple Porch Co-op, and sports trivia at Frank's Place.

Plus, as always, enjoy live music, art exhibits, dining specials, and much more. Check out all the details below!

 

FREE PARKING

Parking (on-street and in DTSB-managed garages) is always free in downtown South Bend nights and weekends.  For full details on downtown parking options, click here

FREE TRANSPO SHUTTLE

 

As always, Transpo will be offering FREE shuttle rides on one of their new CNG buses from 5:00 to 9:00 pm. Click here for a map of the shuttle route. Transpo shuttle service will pass each stop approximately every 15 minutes.

The shuttle service now has First Fridays Tour Guides! They will tell you all about the different activities and promotions taking place downtown at First Fridays, as well as give general info about the downtown businesses, mixed with historical tidbits and fun facts. Grab a seat on the new First Fridays Transpo Tour, and enjoy the informative ride!

As a special treat, The Music Village Jammers will be performing on the First Fridays shuttle from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Tours of Four Winds Field

5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The South Bend Cubs will be hosting free tours at Four Winds Fields this First Fridays. Tour the locker rooms, Performance Center, Pepsi Stadium Club, Home Plate Suite, production room, and Team Store. Tours every half hour 5:30-7:30 pm, limited to the first 25 people per tour. Enter from the home plate side of the stadium.

Bingo Night at Purple Porch 

5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Purple Porch Co-op will be hosting a bingo night with the chance to win food prizes. No buy-ins.

Slow Orbit at Chicory Cafe

8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

105 E. Jefferson Blvd.

Slow Orbit will be playing a free concert at Chicory Cafe this First Fridays from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. While you're there, be sure to take advantage of their First Fridays specials from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. - $1.50 one scoop gelato, and 16 oz. Hurricanes for $6.00.

Sports Trivia at Frank's Place

Frank's Place - our newest First Fridays participant - will be hosting a Sports-Themed Trivia event this First Fridays. Get a team together and come to enjoy some dinner and drinks while impressing others with your sports knowledge!

Prizes will be given away through out the event from other local businesses and organizations. This is a 21+ event and there is no cover charge or registration fee.

Happy Hour with the Symphony 

5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The South Bend Symphony Orchestra presents the third event of the Happy Hour with the Symphony Series - Happy Hour with the Maestro.  Join them for a fun evening of music, drinks, and good company with Maestro Alastair Willis and Pianist Tanya Gabrielian.

South Bend Symphony Open Rehearsal

The South Bend Symphony Orchestra invites you to an Open Rehearsal to experience how the magic of an orchestral concert is created.  The event will take place at the Morris Performing Arts Center from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m.  and is FREE and open to the public.  Come see your Symphony with Music Director Alastair Willis prepare for the Paganini Variations concert featuring pianist Tanya Gabrielian.
