Merrimans' Playhouse will be featuring "The World of Joni Mitchell" this First Fridays - a perfect fit for this month's theme. Joni Mitchell was not afraid to push boundaries of musical genres, political taboos, and social divides, a true Shero of Women's History. Jazz veterans Monika Herzig and Janiece Jaffe will explore Mitchell's music and collaborations with Jaco Pastorius, Charles Mingues, Wayne Shorter, and Carole King. Fresh arrangements and improvisations in the style of Herbie Hancock's masterpiece "River: The Joni Letters" beyond musical boundaries. Tickets are $10 General Admission and $5 for Students, and can be purchased online here.

Meet & Greet with State Champion SB Washington Panthers Girls Basketball Team

The IHSAA 3A State Champions - the South Bend Washington Panthers Girls Basketball Team - will be in the lobby of the Aloft Hotel this First Fridays for a Meet & Greet. Come meet the players and coaches, get autographs and pictures, and view the trophy which will be on display. They will also be selling championship hats ($25) and shirts ($15). Come congratulate these amazing players on their victory!

Welcome to one of our newest First Fridays participants - The Drop Comedy Club! In case you didn't hear, they relocated to the Aloft Hotel and feature amazing comedy shows every Friday and Saturday night! This First Fridays they will have Kris Shaw as the headliner, coming in from Vegas. Jack Hull will also be performing. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased online here. All women attendees will receive giveaway items for Girls' Night Out, and DTSB will be having a contest on their Facebook page for a pair of free tickets!

Shared Space Exhibit at Fire Arts

Fire Arts has extended their "Shared Space" Exhibit through the end of March, and is also resuming extended hours for First Fridays, giving you the chance to view this exhibit featuring three ceramic artists who started their residency within a month of one another in the Fire Arts ceramic studio, with all their pieces created in that shared studio space. Leigh Robison, Linda Mintz, and Linda Wisler shared the staples of a ceramic studio - tables, kilns, tools and equipment. They also shared the creative process of making art - techniques, ideas, successes and failures. However, as you will see, each artist maintained their individual style and commitment to their artistic voice.

The South Bend Museum of Art will be open late for First Fridays - until 8:00 p.m. - giving you the chance to check out the annual Scholastic Art Awards Exhibition, located in the Warner and Jerome J.
