TRICK OR TREATING

5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Downtown South Bend will be hosting its 5th Annual Downtown Trick or Treating & Costume Contest on October 29th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the following schedule of events:

5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.: Trick or Treating

at participating downtown businesses

(see list below; more businesses continue to be added, and map will be coming soon)

7:00 p.m.: Costume Contest Registration

at the Gridiron

(see info below)

7:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.: Costume Contest

on the Gridiron stage

Show off your Halloween costumes and stop in to participating downtown businesses for candy and treat!While you are downtown, be sure to try some try some pumpkin-flavored drinks and desserts at places like Chicory Cafe and South Bend Chocolate Cafe.

 

You can also take pics at our fall photo op by the DTSB offices (217 S. Michigan St.) and post using #dtsbfallfun. Balloon twisting will also be available from Fun By The Yard at the Gridiron.

Football Fridays will also be taking place on the Gridiron this same night. This free community tailgate will have yard games, food and drinks for purchase, live music by Ultrafab, and the stage will be used for our Costume Contest as well.

Costume Contest registration is required and will take place starting at 7 pm at the Gridiron. Entries will be limited to the first 10 participants in each of the following age groups:

4 & under

5-8

9-15

16 & over

 A fifth category will also be available for groups

A Treat Stop map will be coming soon listing all of the locations. Participants can start at any location and go in any order. Some of this year's locations include:

Aloft South Bend
Bicycle Tattoo & Piercing
Bruno's Pizza
Centier Bank (downtown branch)
Chicory Cafe of South Bend
Cinco 5
Lovely Twisted Things
St. Joseph County Public Library
The Pigeon & The Hen Pottery

Local nonprofits will also be passing out candy at the Gridiron. There is no cost for nonprofits to have a booth at this event. Email Kylie - kcarter@downtownsouthbend.com - if you're interested. Participants will need to provide their own table, chairs, candy/treats and tent (tent is optional.)
