South Bend Pride 2022 is getting closer and the LGBTQ Center can't wait to share all of the exciting things they have planned for the month of June! Join them at The Lauber for their Pride launch Party and get all the information on where and how you can celebrate PRIDE in South Bend this year.

Nitro Circus at Four Winds Field*

First Fridays: Kids' Night Out

Join us for the June First Fridays, where the theme will be "Kids' Night Out." We will have something for kids of all ages! We will once again be closing the 200 block of S. Michigan for distanced dining in the street, a beer garden, vendors, a Studebaker Car Show, and the first ever DTSB Youth Talent Show! A second stage will be located in Studebaker Plaza with entertainment by and for kids. ​ROC UR BODY will be filled with activities for kids on the Gridiron, St. Joe County Public Library will be hosting the Summer Reading Club Kickoff Party in their new courtyard, South Bend Bike Garage will be providing a free Bike Valet at Key Bank Plaza, Meet Me on the Island returns, and much more.

Sunburst Races*

Sunburst Races is one of the largest community events in Northern Indiana. It begins at Four Winds Field and finishes at the University of Notre Dame. The half-marathon will kick things off and the 10K, 5K run, and 5K fitness walks will follow. All events will benefit Beacon Children's Hospital. Register here. 

U93's Operation Duck Drop

June 5

Join U93 on the East Race Waterway in Downtown South Bend, where they will release over one thousand rubber ducks into the river! The first 93 ducks collected win. There will be 93 different prizes; one for each winning duck. After the duck drop head over to the Lauber for an afternoon of live music, raffles,

Shortcakes on the Blacktop

Shortcakes on the Blacktop returns for the first time since 2019! The most delicious fundraiser ever features homemade shortcakes served with fresh strawberries and ice cream, all topped off with whipped cream for just $6 (gluten-free and dairy-free options are available). Brewery Ride from South Bend Brew Werks

Join Bike To Work for the first brewery ride of the season. They will start at South Bend Brew Werks and head towards Mishawaka. Cost will be $10 which includes a beverage at the end of the ride and a donation to Bike To Work. Registration is at 11:00 a.m. and they roll at noon.

32nd Annual Stand by Me Walk

The 32nd Annual Alzheimer's and Dementia Services Walk supports real, local caregivers. This year, the Walk will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at Howard Park from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Join them as they honor the thousands of caregivers in our community!

Moonlight and Merlot at the Mansion*

The History Museum

Join The History Museum and Ironhand Vineyard for Moonlight & Merlot at the Mansion, featuring a wine-tasting provided by Ironhand Wine Bar. Curator of Copshaholm Skylar Stasney will give a short presentation about the Oliver Mansion and Dave Sabato will talk about the history of Ironhand and winemaking. Self-guided tours of the first floor of the Oliver Mansion will be offered. Participants must be 21 or over. Tickets are $40/general and $35/ museum members and Ironhand wine club members. Each day will have a vibrant mix of unique things taking place all over our community…sometimes in unlikely places. Recover Michiana Fest

Recover Michiana Fest is an annual festival to celebrate recovery and provide access to resources of support for those personally battling or caring for a loved one battling substance abuse. Their mission is to provide financial support and public awareness toward helping those affected by the opioid and substance abuse crisis.

 

The Second City at Morris Performing Arts Center*

A good laugh and a chance to support the arts in our community – The Second City visits South Bend a second time for a hilarious night of sketches, songs and improvisations, with all proceeds going to support the Morris 100 campaign. The Second City comedy troupe of Chicago will be making their way to the Bendix Theater on Monday, September 26 with their “Out of the House Party” show that will leave you laughing to tears. Morris 100 Fest

We're celebrating 100 years of the Morris Performing Arts Center with a huge birthday party! This fall when the Morris’ interior renovations wrap up, we’ll toast our success and bring in the next century with a two-day festival taking over the entire block. Two stages, a Ferris wheel, games and activities, food trucks, street performers, fireworks and a big show inside the Morris to be announced – all happening September 30 – October 1, 2022 right outside the marquee. Entertainment includes performances on Friday, September 30 from The Why Store and Blammo, and  Saturday, October 1 from The Bergamot, Smash Kings, The 1985, Lalo Cura, and Morris partners Southold Dance Theatre and South Bend Symphony Orchestra. On Friday evening, in the Morris Granada, The DisDressed Dolls will offer a Burlesque show for anyone 21 and older.

Tour guide Steve Szaday with the City of South Bend, in conjunction with the Historic Preservation Commission of South Bend and St. Joseph County, will lead the evening tours, disclosing the visionaries, architects, and builders who helped bring the city’s treasures to life while also discussing the adaptive re-uses of many buildings and reliving the memories of those lost to urban renewal. Wednesday Wine Walks*

June 8 to September 14 (Second Wednesdays)

Wine Walks are designed to allow you to sample wine and food from several different restaurants for one great price. Purchase a wristband for $45. Then walk to as many participating restaurants as you like, where you will sample three wines and a variety of foods chosen to pair with the wines. 

Red Table Plaza Concert Series

The streets of downtown will be resonant with the music of local musicians during the Red Table Plaza Lunchtime Concert Series. Soloists, duets, and small groups will perform free acoustical concerts (weather permitting) from 11:45 a.m. until 1:15 p.m. Downtown workers and visitors are invited to take a seat at Studebaker Plaza, at the southwest corner of Jefferson and Michigan Street. Grab lunch from a nearby restaurant or bring your own, then enjoy it while taking in the tunes!

Join South Bend Latin Dance Fridays at Howard Park, 7-9 PM at the pond/rink area. Salsa, bachata, cumbia & more. They put on this outdoor event welcoming all levels of dance, all abilities, and all ages, for an evening of all fun. Your $5 admission includes a beginner’s 20-minute lesson at 7 p.m.

DTSB has partnered with local fitness organizations to provide a free outdoor summer fitness program at the Gridiron in downtown South Bend every Saturday morning to encourage healthy living. These free classes, begin at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 10:00 a.m., include a mix of yoga, Zumba, Hip Hop, Grit, Barre, and more.

Join us the second Saturday of each month during the summer as we celebrate the arts during East Race rafting. Arts on the Race is a continuation of Art Beat as local artists display and sell their art work along the East Race. The East Race Waterway is North America's first artificial whitewater rapids course! With the placement of obstacles, this 2,000 ft.-long waterway can create whitewater turbulence from novice to professional levels.
