DTSB now accepting applications for 2013 holiday pop up shop program
September 4, 2013 — Downtown South Bend, INC. is now accepting applications for the 2013 Holiday Pop-Up Shop Program through Monday, September 30, 2013. Pop-Up Shops will occupy the vacant store fronts of the 100 and 200 blocks of Michigan Street from November 1 through December 28, 2013.
Participants for this year’s program will be selected through an application process, which is reviewed by a committee. Selection will be based on the variety of items available for holiday shoppers, how participant’s concept complements current, full-time tenants, his or her ability to add holiday excitement through in-store events and promotions, the creativity of window displays, and the quality of the business model. Participants of the program will be notified on October 7, 2013.

The Pop-Up Shop program will fill four to five available spaces in the 100 and 200 blocks of Michigan St. with local or regional businesses. Selected merchants will be offered a no-cost, short-term lease for the 2013 holiday season. The program supports existing downtown tenants by making downtown a destination for purchasing unique holiday gifts and generating increased walk-in traffic.
