Art Beat 2012 Registration Deadline Extended to June 29

June 7, 2012 — The registration deadline for participation in downtown South Bend’s ninth annual Art Beat, to take place on August 25 from 11 am to 6 pm, has been extended to June 29. Visual, performing, and culinary artist registrations must be received by this date for entry into Art Beat.

Art Beat is a local art show open to artists residing in St. Joseph, Elkhart, La Porte, Marshall and Starke counties in Indiana; and Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan. Registration forms and instructions are available at www.ArtBeatSouthBend.org. Non‐profit and arts organizations looking to take part in Art Beat must also apply.

Art Beat is held on the streets and sidewalks of downtown South Bend. Visual artists will be placed along Michigan Street from Colfax to Wayne Street. Multiple performing art venues will be strategically placed throughout downtown. Culinary Arts Village will also return for a third year.

Art Beat features over 250 individual and group artisans and performers, and draws over 10,000 visitors. The streets and sidewalks of downtown South Bend are transformed into a live interactive gallery as artists, dancers, musicians, actors, poets and culinary artists display and perform their talents.
