Art Beat 2014 is now accepting artist application
March 24, 2014 — SOUTH BEND, IN– Applications are now being accepted for participation in Downtown South Bend Inc.’s (DTSB) eleventh annual Art Beat to take place on Saturday, August 16th from 12 pm to 8 pm. Visual, performing and culinary artist registrations must be received by June 1.
Art Beat 2014 is open to artists residing in St. Joseph, Elkhart, La Porte, Marshall and Starke counties in Indiana; and Berrien and Cass counties in Michigan. Registration forms and instructions are available at www.ArtBeatSouthBend.org. A $10 application fee does apply, however, booth space is free for all participating artists. Non‐profit and arts organizations looking to take part in Art Beat must also apply.
Art Beat is held on the streets and sidewalks of downtown South Bend. Visual artists will be placed along Michigan Street from Jon Hunt Plaza, in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center, to Wayne Street. Multiple performing art venues will be strategically placed throughout downtown. The Culinary Arts Village will also return for its fourth year.
Art Beat is the largest, single day art festival in the region. It features over 300 individual and group artisans and performers, and draws over 10,000 visitors. The streets and sidewalks of downtown South Bend are transformed into a live interactive gallery as artists, dancers, musicians, actors, poets and culinary artists display and perform their talents.
