


Santa House
A downtown magical adventure with Santa begins the first Saturday of December and runs each weekend until Christmas Eve. Includes: Santa’s North Pole Hotline, a visit with Santa at Santa House, a free Trolley ride, a free candy bar at the South Bend Chocolate Café, and activities at Santa’s Workshop. Workshop features: gingerbread house display & contest, cookie decorating, coloring, holiday music & movies, popcorn, merchant & museum coupons and much, much more. All activities are free to the public.
St. Paddy’s Tent Party & Pub Tour
A special outdoor tent event, from 5:00 to 11:00 p.m., is held to kick-off St. Patrick’s Day festivities in Downtown South Bend. Usually scheduled on the Friday before St. Patrick’s Day, The Tent Party & Pub Tour features live rock music throughout the night with festive food and drink. An admittance fee gets partygoers into the Tent Party, access to the popular Pub Tour and onto the Trolleys free of charge. The Pub Tour features over a dozen of South Bend’s most popular downtown hot spots.
Egg-Stravaganza
A day filled with fun activities for children of all ages including: the Center for History’s Bunny Brunch, photos with the Easter Bunny at the South Bend Chocolate Café, family fun at the South Bend Museum of Art, and fun and games on the College Football Hall of Fame gridiron.
Green Weekend: Eco Fest & Green Expo
Downtown South Bend, Inc., in partnership with WNIT Public Television, 88.1 WVPE and the City of South Bend, presents a weekend of Green activities for the community. Green Weekend combines the efforts of area organizations to provide the community with one look at the latest in Green Technology and grow the their interest in volunteering, living and working Green. The two day event features Green vendors and workshops focused towards businesses on Friday in the Century Center with more family friendly activities on Saturday in Howard Park.
Red Table Plaza Lunchtime Concert Series
Hosted by DTSB, the Red Table Plaza Lunchtime Concert Series features a live musical performance Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. The series begins June 16 and runs through August 8. The weekday event will be held at the Wells Fargo Plaza on the southwest corner of Michigan and Jefferson streets. All concerts are free and open to the public weather permitting. Bring a lunch, relax on the plaza, and enjoy the lovely music performed by a local musician.
Football Fridays Block Party
The downtown block party takes place in the 100 block of N. Michigan Street, in front of the College Football Hall of Fame, every Friday before a Notre Dame home football game. The block party is held from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. and features a live band, games/activities, tailgate food, and drink favorites. The party is $5.00 per person and open to football fans of all ages.
Art Beat
Art Beat has become one of downtown South Bend’s most celebrated public events. This community-wide showcase of the cultural arts draws more than 500 individual and group artists to the heart of our city. Featuring dancers, musicians, actors, poets, and artists of all kinds, Art Beat is attended by more than 7,000 people from the area. Art Beat is a free event and open to the public.
Downtown First Fridays
First Fridays Downtown South Bend features over 35 participating businesses and takes place from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. on the first Friday of every month. Participating downtown businesses remain open or host special events such as live music, sidewalk cafés, demonstrations, celebrations, receptions and special offerings throughout the business, art, museum, dining and entertainment districts. Most events are free or at a reduced rate.
